Make Plans for Your Backyard Space
Your dream backyard is within your reach. However, you need a plan to make it happen. After you have a plan, you can choose when you bring it to life. For most homeowners, this means working overtime. You may want to install a pool, build a deck, add a fire pit, have nice flower beds and/or pathways, and update or add furniture, swings, etc. This could cost a lot of money if you try to do it at one time.
Our recommendation is to consider doing it in various phases. You may draw out or make a list of things that you want to work toward and then based on your budget, decide that you will work toward doing it before next summer or over the next two years.
First you will also want to consider the type of space you want to create. One for family fun or a space for relaxation? Do you want a designated area for grilling? In short, what do you want to gain from your space?
Then you can decide what is easiest to achieve right now and move up to larger items that may take more saving for. Do what you can to start, saving specific areas for the larger stuff that may have to wait until you are able to handle it.
